The Big Easy

Why do I like New Orleans? Yes, there are good resturants in other cities. Yes, there is good music in other cities. But what other cities lack is the atmosphere. Take the subtropical damp mixed with the vomit and urine of Bourbon St. Add the jazz and the occasional cool puff of wind from the river plus the party atmosphere, friendly people and sailors on shore leave and you have a city that I have always loved to visit and have on more than one occasion considered moving there. Plus the liquor stores are nearly always open. I think it was El Capitan who said "What good is a liquor store that is closed at 3am? And now in the aftermath of the hurricane (created by weather witch Bush if the mayor is truthful). I wanna go back and see what is there and what is not.

I would absolutely *love* to plan a long weekend jaunt to go see my fair city. If we rented a van and all shared the expenses, I know a great B&B we could take over. We should plan this once my money starts rolling in!! :)
